SAFETY, HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

What is Safety: It is the condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk or injury and loss of life’s and or properties.  It is one of the challenging situation facing Ghana and Africa.

What is healthy: As defined by World Health Organization (WHO), it is a state of complete physical mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Health is a dynamic condition resulting from a body’s constant adjustment and adaptation in response to stresses and changes in the environment for maintaining an inner equilibrium called.

What is Environment: The sum total of all surroundings of a living organism, including natural forces and other living things which provide conditions development and as well as danger and damages.

In Ghana, we believe about eighty to ninety percent of our total population are ignorance about safety precautions, waste segregation and how to dispose of waste.

Even though, the remaining percentage we believed those who apply for safety precautions and how to dispose of waste are those who had opportunity to work with the foreign industries established in Ghana such as Americans, Canadians, Europeans and Australians. Some of the few Africa companies operating in Ghana that perform Safety precautions are Goldfields Ghana limited, South Africa and other few Ghanaian firms.

Furthermore, we agree that about eight (10) percent of our total population has been educated by this foreign industry. Than if this has been done, why don’t we educate ourselves to stop unsafe practices such as environment pollution, water pollution, wrongful disposal of waste, careless driving, reckless packing, mobile phones usage while driving, avoiding of fatigue etc.

Some of Ghanaians and African spiritual leaders believe that accident, incident occurrences, operates by evil dowers or witchcraft but Advocates for Social Intervention Ghana (ASIG) disagreed with these perceptions of evil dowers or witchcraft. All is about our ignorance on safety procedures examples many drivers and their car owners doesn’t know about safety checks, fire fighting, prestart checks, bad maintenance culture practice etc.

Only Ghanaian and Africa that adopted bad attitude by disposing of refuse into our rivers, water bodies and gutters, it all because we don’t know the negative effects of it and consequences. Advocates for Social Intervention Ghana (ASIG) is committed to educated people on safety precautions, how to segregate waste and handle them.
